Product Description Hailed for its clear writing, scientific accuracy, and real-world examples, Essential Biology is a brief non-majors biology text that focuses on the core concepts readers need to make scientifically informed decisions throughout their lives. The book covers four major topics–cells, genetics, evolution/diversity, and ecology–and uses evolution as an overarching theme to tie all 20 chapters together. Human applications and the most up-to-date information on important issues show readers how biology relates to their own lives. New Process of Science sections within the text draw readers into the material and provide real-world examples of how the scientific method is applied. Biology Today. CELLS: Essential Chemistry for Biology, The Molecules of Life, A Tour of the Cell, The Working Cell, Cellular Respiration: Obtaining Energy from Food, Photosynthesis: Using Light to Make Food. could have been better May 10, 2010 M. Kelemework (Seattle, WA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Well I never got the book, their is a mix up in post office they said it was delivered but I never got it. Post office couldn't do anything and the seller couldn't do anything!!! So I guess that sucks for me!!! Seller did get back to me and try to resolve the issue but they couldn't do anything. I didn't pursue this issue because thankfully the book only cost 20 dollars but I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else.

a good textbook April 3, 2009 Y. Petross (Western Texas) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
It was a required book for a college biology class. Not much else I can say about it, it did the job it was designed to do.
